Yesterday, the sky shined bright with purple light in remembrance of Prince Rogers Nelson known by the mononym Prince, or The Artist Formally Known As. Prince became a multiplatinum recording artist from the hit " Why you wanna treat me so bad?" The artist died yesterday from complications that have yet been released to the public. If you live in Cleveland, Ohio then you know the Terminal Tower recognizes holidays, causes, and special events by lighting the tower with different colors. Like the recent wine and gold to represent the Cavs. Who are up in the playoffs against the Detroit Pistons.

Requests for lighting up the Tower can be made through the Twitter account @TowerLightsCLE.
Sadly, from what I seen on twitter is that request were flooding in for the tower to recognize Prince. So in good fashion, Terminal Tower gave the people what they wanted. Terminal tower led the way by lighting the sky and the city responded. An artist by the name of Perris Mackey who also lives in the Cleveland area. And runs his own art, crafts, apparel shop and online store, simply dubbed Immortalnerd. Showed his love for Prince with a priceless collage he made himself, to honor the artist.

We reached out to the artist for questions. We asked " what made you make this collage of prince?" He simply replied " No better way to represent ImmortalNerd than to honor an Immortal icon". Brilliantly put Mr. Mackey. I think here in the Rock and Roll capitol, the city showed the artist a lot of well deserved love. From a personal standpoint, he will be missed.
I first discovered Prince during my childhood in the late 80's and early 90's. During weekend cleaning fits with my mother blasting her jams as we cleaned the house. Early reactions to Prince's death were mostly disbelief: "Prince can NOT be dead." I know thats what i said. It's even harder to believe a day later. Yet, while its sad he is gone, perhaps now we can truly connect with him on a more authentic level.
