Village Family Farms is an all natural production farm established in 2010 and located at 1662 Crawford Rd. in the Hough Neighborhood, on Cleveland's east side.
Owners Jamel Rahkeera and Jafar Nicholson, along with a few other volunteers throughout the year, locally grow and harvest fresh fruits, vegetables and also fresh honey. "Our main goal is to bring fresh produce to food deserts throughout the area", Jafar tells NBM Magazine. Food deserts are areas where there is limited access to affordable and nutritious foods, mainly found in urban, minority, and low income communities.
VFF participates in many community markets throughout the season, from April until October, or weather permitting. Currently, they are at Shaker Square Farmers Market on Saturdays from 8am until 12pm, year round.

VFF offers a training program, "Seed The Stomach", that will educate you on growing and harvesting your own food. "We'd like to teach people in our community to eat healthier", Jafar says.
