State to do away with front plates in Ohio

#ohionews Ohio is joining other states by doing away with the requirement that vehicles must display license plates on the front bumpers. Beginning July 1, 2020, vehicles will no longer need to have the front plate. It was part of a compromised deal reached by lawmakers Tuesday in a two-year state transportation budget bill.

The push to eliminate the front license plate has received push back from law enforcement groups who have argued in favor of keeping the front license plate because it allows them to easily identify vehicles and help solve crimes.
